Avaxat Elementary School, a California Distinguished School, serves students in Kindergarten through Grade Five. Avaxat, which means cottonwood, is the second elementary school to be opened in the Murrieta Valley Unified School District. Avaxat Elementary is located on the northern side of Murrieta.
