Chapel Hill Elementary School is located in the center of Douglas County - home to approximately 135,000 people. Our community lies about 20 miles west of Atlanta, Georgia. Our original building opened adjacent to Chapel Hill Middle School in 1978. In 2007 we began school in a new state-of-the-art building on Coursey Lake Dr. It was built at a cost of $14.1 million, has 56 classrooms, and sits on a site of 33 1/2 acres. We are proud of our school!
Our current student population is approximately 700 students in Kindergarten through Fifth grade. Our staff consists of one Principal, an Assistant Principal and thirty-one full-time grade-level teachers. In addition, our faculty has two Program Challenge (gifted) teachers, six special education teachers, two Physical Education teachers, a part-time ESOL teacher, an art and a music teacher. A counselor, Media Specialist, Educational Evaluator, Social Worker, and Psychologist complete the staff. Non-certified personnel consist of twelve instructional paraprofessionals, one office manager, an attendance clerk, and two office clerks.
