The vision of International Studies Elementary Charter School is to develop the whole child as an inquirer both in the classroom and in the world outside. The mission of International Studies Elementary Charter School is to develop high academic skill, an understanding of international ideas and cultural diversity, responsible citizenship, as well as critical and compassionate thinking.
International Studies Elementary Charter School is a conversion charter school offering the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program. The IB/PYP program historically provides for increased student achievement through its rigorous academic instructional approaches and its organizational effectiveness. We focus on encouraging international-mindedness and fostering a positive attitude to learning, as students seek to understand the world around them.
We offer a variety of programs and strategies used to meet the needs of our children. The EIP teachers offer small group recovery strategies to students who are experiencing difficulties mastering reading and math skills. Our two computer labs offer research based programs such as; Education City and Study Island which are directly aligned with the Georgia CRCT Standards. We offer Spanish language classes.
International Studies Elementary Charter School is uniquely located near the Albany Marine Corps Logistics Base and has enjoyed a wholesome relationship with many organizations housed on base. Since parent involvement is one of the best indicators of a thriving school, our school charter mandates that parents volunteer 18 hours per family each year. We pride ourselves in having an active PTO, Charter Board and Parent Advisory Committee committed to excellence.
