Built over 44 years ago, Daniel Lairon Elementary was modernized in 2000. Each classroom was refurbished, the office was renovated, and the cafeteria facilities were updated. Currently, our school site is once again being updated as part of the upcoming transition into Daniel Lairon College Prep Academy, Lairon Elementary has 22 classroom teachers (including two Special Day Classes). The support staff includes a school Principal, a Project Specialist, two part-time speech therapists, and an RSP teacher. The staff also consists of: four Special Education Para Professionals, and one Categorical Para Professional that supports the school curriculum. We have an Academic Dean who assists with the implementation of the California Common Core Standards.
Our school is implementing BEST practices as a means to change the tone and culture of the school into a positive one where students are rewarded for following norms. As a community school, we welcome community partners and parents in assisting us to teach our students to the highest potential.
