All Kennedy School students apply the concepts of math and science in real life situations through labs and projects offered by the Tech Museum. Technology partners from San Jose State University and Santa Clara University work with teachers of students and teachers as mentors and coaches. For example, our technology partners will conduct hands-on robotics and coding projects with students. Additionally, they work with our teachers to implement the next generation of science standards.
This is truly a cognitive apprenticeship model at its best. Under the direction of their S.T.E.M. Coach, students work in collaborative teams in their very own STEM lab on science based projects.
Kennedy School is a recipient of the Apple Tablet Grant. The school will receive 160 tablets from Apple during the 2016-2017 school year. Additionally, Apple will provide professional development opportunities to all teaching staff at Kennedy to support the implementation of STEM curriculum.
