L.W. Burnett Elementary School is located in Douglasville, which lies about 20 miles west of Atlanta, Georgia. Douglas County has a population of approximately 120,000 people. Our school was constructed in the 1950's. It was built as a junior high school and later converted to an elementary school.

Burnett Elementary operates under a management plan of shared decision-making directed by a principal and assistant principal. Both administrators have an open door policy for faculty, staff, and parents. Each grade level and special area team is represented on a shared leadership, decision-making team.
